What are weft human hair extensions?
Weft extensions consist of continuous strands woven along a thin, continuous track (available as Genius Wefts, Hand-Tied, or Flat Machine Wefts). Applied by a professional hair artist, they provide seamless fullness, length, and dense volume across your natural hair.
How are weft extensions installed?
Wefts are applied using salon techniques like beaded weave methods (securing the track to micro-beaded foundations of natural hair) or traditional sew-in braids. Professional fitting ensures natural weight distribution and protects your natural scalp health.
How long do weft extensions last?
With proper home care and salon maintenance, our 100% Remy human hair wefts last 6 to 12+ months and can be reinstalled repeatedly. The track requires professional refitting every 6 to 8 weeks as your natural hair grows.
Can I wash my weft extensions?
Yes, wash your wefts regularly using sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoos and hydrating conditioners. Direct shampoo downward, avoid rough rubbing at the track, and ensure the root area is dried thoroughly post-wash.
Can I style my weft extensions with heat?
Because our wefts are crafted from 100% Remy human hair, you can blow-dry, curl, and straighten them. Always apply a thermal heat protectant spray and limit heat tools to a maximum temperature of 180°C to preserve longevity.
Can I colour or dye my weft extensions?
Our human hair wefts can be toned or darkened by a salon professional. We strongly advise against bleaching or lightening extensions. Chemical alterations performed by third parties are done at your own risk and void transactional guarantees.
Can I swim with weft extensions?
You can swim, but precautions are essential. Chlorine and ocean salt strip moisture and cause discoloration. Saturate hair with fresh tap water, comb through a leave-in conditioner, secure in a low braid, and wash thoroughly immediately after swimming.
Can I sleep with weft extensions in?
Yes. Before bed, secure your hair in a low, loose braid or ponytail and sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction. Never go to sleep with damp or wet weft tracks.
What ingredients should I avoid using on my extensions?
Avoid products containing sulfates, parabens, heavy protein treatments (like keratin), and high alcohol content. Also avoid chemical sunscreens containing Avobenzone or Octocrylene, as they cause chemical pink discoloration on light blonde shades.
How often do I need maintenance for my weft extensions?
We recommend professional refill appointments every 6 to 8 weeks to adjust micro-beads and lift the track back toward your scalp, maintaining healthy natural growth and comfort.
