While high-quality human hair can technically withstand these activities, we generally recommend removing your wig or topper during these times to maximize its lifespan:

• Swimming: Chlorine and saltwater strip moisture from hair fibers. If swimming, wear a swim cap and wash/hydrate the hair immediately after.
• Sleeping: Friction against pillows causes tangling and premature shedding. We suggest removing it at night or sleeping on a silk pillowcase.
• Working Out: Sweat buildup requires more frequent washing, which can accelerate wear. A comfortable headband or dedicated workout hairpiece is recommended.

Proper care keeps your hair soft and shiny:

• Washing: Clean every 15–20 wears using sulfate-free, hydrating shampoos and deep-conditioning treatments.
• Drying: Pat dry gently with a towel and allow to air-dry on a mannequin head or wig stand.
• Brushing: Use a specialized loop brush or wide-tooth comb, starting from the ends and moving upward.
• Styling: Apply a heat protectant spray prior to using hot tools. Keep heat settings under 180°C.
